About
At Alard (“Aarde” in Dutch), we invite you on a journey to experience the soul of Palestine through its rich, authentic flavors.
Founded by three Palestinians in Belgium, Alard is more than just a restaurant—it’s a piece of Palestinian heritage nestled in the heart of Ghent. The name "Alard" holds a special meaning: in Arabic, it translates to "the land," symbolizing our deep connection to Palestine's soil and culture. But it also resonates with "Aarde," the Dutch word for "land," mirroring the unique bridge we've built between our Palestinian roots and our Belgian home.
Our dishes are crafted with love and history, using spices brought directly from Palestine, ensuring that every bite carries the warmth and stories of our homeland.
At Alard, you aren’t just tasting food—you’re discovering the essence of a people, a place, and a land that lives on through its flavors.
Welcome to Alard, where the spirit of Palestine thrives, and every meal tells a story of resilience, tradition, and the land that defines us.
